Both the oil and the powder contain minute pieces of plastic that glow under UV light. To become germ detectives, students apply a small amount of oil before handwashing and then try to spot remaining “germs” under a UV light. To investigate the thoroughness of surface cleaning, students wipe away a light dusting of Glo Germ powder and hunt for germs with the UV light.

Glo Germ gel is recommended where stains are of concern. The adjustable flow Glo Brush lets users apply a thin layer of powder to any surface quickly and without waste and features a refillable powder reservoir with a cover to protect bristles.
