The start of any microscopy lesson for bacteria is learning to identify using shape and gram stain state. These slides allow presentation in either a general presentation visualized with just a basic stain, or challenge students with a mixed sample showing both gram + and gram − organisms. Individual forms are also available with just one form per slide. Once students learn the basic bacterial cell structures, sporulation can be explored to help distinguish between different bacteria.
