The LilyPad Sewable Electronics Kit lets you explore the wonderful world of electronic sewing (e-sewing) and e-textiles through a series of introductory projects using the LilyPad system.

The LilyPad MP3 player is your all-in-one audio solution, containing an Arduino-compatible microcontroller, MP3 (and many other formats) audio decoder chip, micro-SD card socket, and a stereo audio amplifier. Part of the Lilypad e-textiles line, this board can be used to give your fabric creations the gift of music, or any other sounds you can put on a micro-SD card.

Electronics and intro to programming in one box! Discover Electronics provides a foundation in prototyping electronics and gives you the basics you need to create circuits for your Arduino microcontroller. A class in a box: visual manuals and additional online lessons move you easily from learning electronics to basic programming.

The LilyPad is based on the Arduino platform, but in a form that makes it easier to incorporate into wearable projects. As well as the main microcontroller, there’s a broad range of input and output add-ons under the LilyPad brand that are all designed to look good and to work with conductive thread. Limited outputs make it not ideal for more complex projects.

This kit is designed to take students new to computing and sewing through a series of projects where they learn simple, parallel and computational circuitry, sequencing, conditional logic, sensor reading, functions and related programming in Arduino, 3D crafting and design, and computational thinking practices such as debugging, iteration, revision, problem solving, and algorithmic thinking.
